Trial class

Upon registering, students receive information regarding the course, including an invoice for the trial class. After the first class, the student receives an invoice for the remaining course fee. We send invoices via email. Payment must be made within 48 hours of receipt and no later than 24 hours before the trial class begins. If the invoice has not been paid before the class starts, the instructor will refuse the student entry and turn them away; participation in the training will not be possible. If you decide not to participate in the trial class, you must notify us in writing via email within 48 hours of receiving the invoice. If we are not notified in writing, we will still charge you for the trial class.

Payment course package

After the trial class, you will receive an email containing the invoice for the remaining course fee. This invoice must be paid within 48 hours of receipt and no later than 24 hours before the start of the second class. If the invoice has not been paid by the start of the second class, the instructor will refuse the participant entry to the class and send them away. Participation in the class will not be possible, and we will still charge the course fee. If you decide not to proceed with the course, you must notify us in writing via email within 48 hours of receiving the invoice; otherwise, we will charge the full course fee. Course fees are non-refundable. Minerva Dog Training also reserves the right to discontinue the course. We will do so in cases of non-payment, failure to follow rules, intimidation of one’s own dog, other participants, the instructor, or if we feel that a different course would be more appropriate for the participant and dog (for example, if we observe that the dog is experiencing significant stress from the course and failing to settle in). If we deem it appropriate, we will consult with the participant to explore alternative solutions.

WhatsApp group for courses

Each instructor has a personal phone number on which they can be reached. Participants receive this number along with the course details. Minerva Dog Training may use WhatsApp Business groups to communicate with participants. These groups are used exclusively for sharing course information, updates, and announcements. The groups are configured as one-way communication channels, meaning only the administrator can send messages. Participation in these groups is voluntary. By participating, the participant consents to their phone number being shared within the group. Participants’ phone numbers may be visible to other group members. Minerva Dog Training cannot be held liable for any misuse or unauthorized use of phone numbers or other data by third parties. If a participant does not wish for their phone number to be visible to others, they may indicate this up to 48 hours before the start of the second class; in such cases, the participant is responsible for monitoring social media and/or the website for announcements. Should an objection be raised later, the instructor will remove the participant from the WhatsApp group.

Option to cancel a class during the course

Participants are entitled to cancel a training session a maximum of one time during the course package. If a participant cancels more than once during the course package, Minerva Dog Training will charge for the class and deduct it from the package. Minerva Dog Training must be notified of the absence in writing via email at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, the class will be charged. If a participant is absent without notifying Minerva Dog Training in advance, the class will be charged and deducted from the course package. If a participant is absent without notice more than twice, they will be withdrawn from the course; no refund of the course fee is possible in this event.

Personal Training

Payment for the personal training must be made at least 48 hours before the training begins; otherwise, we will be forced to cancel it. If you decide to cancel the personal training, you must notify Minerva Dog Training in writing via email at least 48 hours in advance. If we are not notified in time, we will still charge you for the personal training.

Cancellation

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to info@minervadogtraining.nl. Upon receipt of the cancellation, we will send you a message confirming that we have received it. The cancellation is only valid once we have confirmed receipt.

Cancellation of the class

We reserve the right to cancel a training due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, or holidays. For personal training, we will contact the client personally to make arrangements for rescheduling the class. For courses, the class is automatically postponed by one week. In the event of a group class cancellation, we will post a notice on our website under “Latest News” no later than one hour before the class starts, and also announce it on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Students receive an invitation to follow our social media pages. Course fees are non-refundable in such cases. Training will not take place under the following weather conditions: temperatures of 30°C or higher, winter temperatures below 4°C, or heavy snow or rainfall.

Payment options

Payment details will be provided to the course participant via an invoice. It is also possible to transfer the course fee using iDEAL.

Responsibility

Participation in the courses is entirely at your own risk. Minerva Dog Training accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury sustained by you and/or your dog—whether caused by circumstances or third parties—before, during, or after the training; you remain responsible at all times. Minerva Dog Training is not liable for any damage caused by you or your dog to third parties before, during, or after the course, or during other activities organized by Minerva Dog Training. Participants must follow the trainer’s instructions at all times to ensure the safest possible environment. If a participant refuses to follow the trainer’s instructions, they will no longer be permitted to participate in the class, and Minerva Dog Training reserves the right to terminate the course without the possibility of a refund.

You are required to have liability insurance for yourself and your dog. You cannot train with Minerva Dog Training without liability insurance. If you do have liability insurance, we advise you to double-check whether your dog is actually covered under your current policy, as this is not always the case.

Minerva Dog Training is not liable for the failure to achieve the results desired by the owner. No refund of course fees is possible if the results desired by the owner are not achieved.

Training materials

When training on-site, we expect you to clean up your dog’s waste using a waste bag to keep the grounds tidy.

For the training, you will need: a leash of approximately 2 meters, a well-fitting collar or harness, a non-squeaky toy, and, of course, treats. Ball-type toys are not permitted.

We do not train using retractable leashes. The use of slip chains, prong collars, shock collars, or anti-bark collars is prohibited. Intimidation or violence towards the dog, other people, or the trainer is not permitted. Should any of the aforementioned items be used or any of these actions occur, Minerva Dog Training reserves the right to terminate the training without a refund of the course fee.

Training rules

All dogs must be kept on a leash while on the premises and must remain leashed when entering or leaving the site. Dogs on leashes must not make contact with one another at the start of the class. For safety reasons, participants must follow the trainers’ instructions at all times during the training. If a participant refuses to follow the trainer’s instructions, they will no longer be permitted to participate in the class, and Minerva Dog Training reserves the right to terminate the course without the possibility of a refund.

Vaccinations

We would like to see the vaccination record before the course begins. We cannot admit dogs to the course that have not been properly vaccinated. Every dog ​​must have received the appropriate vaccinations (vaccinations depend on age). Dogs must be vaccinated against distemper, parvovirus, leptospirosis (Weil’s disease), HCC, and kennel cough. After vaccination, you may choose to have your dog’s antibody levels tested (titer test). Dogs are welcome to attend training if the post-vaccination titer level is sufficiently high. Please bring proof of this when the course starts.

Health of your dog

If your dog has a contagious disease, please notify Minerva Dog Training immediately. This includes conditions such as ear mites, kennel cough, giardia, and the like. We would also like to be informed if a contagious disease is diagnosed after the training has taken place.

If a dog is unwell, we will discuss the training options with you.

You may not participate in a group class with a dog in heat. Once your dog goes into heat, you must consult Minerva Dog Training so that we can make arrangements regarding resuming the course. For personal training, you must notify Minerva Dog Training before the training begins.

Do not feed your dog for two hours before training or for one hour after training. This is to prevent gastric torsion (bloat). Signs of gastric torsion include restlessness, excessive salivation, labored breathing, abdominal swelling, and attempts to vomit without bringing anything up. This condition is life-threatening.

Privacy legislation and copyright

All data provided by course participants to Minerva Dog Training is intended solely for registration purposes. Minerva Dog Training may not disclose this data and is required to protect the participants’ privacy to the best of its ability.

We ask in advance for permission to publish visual material—such as photos or videos of the dog—on social media and/or our website. We reserve the right to use such visual material for commercial purposes. Participants have the option to decline this. Photos and videos will not feature the participant, out of respect for privacy, unless the participant has given explicit permission to do so.

The digital and written materials we provide to course participants are protected by Minerva Dog Training’s copyright. They may not be shared with others or made public without our permission.
